Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • ½ cup refried beans (optional)
  • ¼ cup diced onions (optional)
  • ¼ cup diced tomatoes (optional)
  • ¼ cup sour cream (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
    • Drain excess grease and add taco seasoning and water. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  2. Prepare the Tortillas:

    • Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds on each side or microwave them for 10 seconds to make them pliable.
  3. Assemble the Burritos:

    • Spread a thin layer of refried beans onto each tortilla (if using).
    • Spoon the seasoned beef evenly onto the tortillas.
    • Drizzle nacho cheese sauce over the beef and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
    • Add onions, tomatoes, and any other toppings you prefer.
  4. Wrap the Burritos:

    • Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it tightly from bottom to top to form a burrito.
  5. Toast the Burritos (Optional):

    • Heat a clean skillet over medium heat and toast each burrito for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Serve warm with sour cream, salsa, or guacamole on the side.

Notes

  • Cheese Options: Swap cheddar for Monterey Jack or a Mexican cheese blend for a richer taste.
  • Add Some Spice: Mix in diced jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicier kick.
  • Make it a Meal: Serve with Spanish rice, chips, and guacamole for a complete Tex-Mex experience.

  • Storage: Wrap leftovers in foil and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave before serving.
