    • ½ cup (100g) brown sugar, packed
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup (180g) chocolate chips (optional)
  • For the Frosting (if needed for frosted flavors):

    • ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
    • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare:

    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Dough:

    • In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
    • Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  4. Shape & Bake:

    • Scoop large cookie dough balls (about ¼ cup each) onto the prepared baking sheet.
    • Slightly flatten each ball and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  5. Cool & Frost (Optional):
